Move selection is one of the most impactful decisions in VGC teambuilding. Beyond raw power, you need to account for spread damage, priority, secondary effects, interactions with Protect, Wide Guard and Quick Guard, and how each move functions in the double-battle format. Spread moves like Heat Wave, Dazzling Gleam and Earthquake hit both opponents but can also be blocked by Wide Guard. Priority moves like Fake Out and Extreme Speed change the action order. Support moves like Tailwind, Trick Room and Helping Hand can define entire archetypes.
