Its weaknesses are significant: it is physically frail, vulnerable to the format's common Fighting, Fairy, Bug and Ghost coverage, and its bulk is not designed to absorb hits, so it relies on positioning and speed support. Its sleep pressure is powerful but unreliable, so it is not a consistent win condition on its own. It functions best as a lead that disrupts the opponent's plan or a mid-game breaker that punishes committed answers. Mega Darkrai pairs well with redirection and with partners that handle the Fighting and Fairy threats it invites. It is a high-variance, high-reward pick for aggressive teams.
