Spectrier is the Ghost special attacker that brings one of the format's fastest speed tiers and a genuinely disruptive toolkit to Regulation M-A teams. Its speed is elite, letting it outrun most of the format, and its special Attack is strong enough to threaten bulky cores. Its signature ability, Grim Neigh, boosts its special Attack with every KO, turning it into a snowballing threat, and its access to Will-O-Wisp and support moves gives it genuine utility. Its weaknesses are the ones Ghost-types always carry — vulnerable to Dark and Ghost pressure — and it is physically frail, so it relies on positioning and speed support. Its movepool for coverage is limited, which means it must rely on its STAB and utility rather than broad coverage. It functions best as a fast breaker that pressures from turn one or as a late-game cleaner that snowballs after a KO. Spectrier pairs well with redirection and with partners that handle the Dark-types that threaten it. It is a high-reward, tempo-oriented pick that rewards aggressive, calculated play.

Spectrier performs best when its role is clearly defined in team preview. As a Special Attacker and Speed Control Pokémon, focus on positioning it where it can execute its job without being forced into unfavorable exchanges. Watch for Sucker Punch and Shadow Claw from common physical attackers.
