Keldeo Resolute is the Water/Fighting special attacker that brings a strong speed tier and one of the format's most reliable special presences to Regulation M-A teams. Its signature move, Secret Sword, is a Fighting-type attack that deals damage based on the target's Defense, which makes it a devastating tool against bulky special walls. Its Water STAB pressures the Ground and Fire cores of the format, and its speed is excellent, letting it outrun most of the format's non-restricted attackers. Its weaknesses are the ones Water and Fighting types share — vulnerable to Flying, Psychic, Fairy, Electric and Grass — and it is physically frail, so it relies on positioning and speed support. It also fears the format's common Grass and Electric coverage. It functions best as a fast breaker that pressures from turn one or as a mid-game cleaner that punishes weakened boards. Keldeo pairs well with redirection and with partners that handle the Flying and Psychic threats it invites. It is a reliable, straightforward special speed threat for aggressive and balanced teams alike.
