Glastrier is the Ice physical attacker that brings one of the format's most devastating Trick Room presences to Regulation M-A teams. Its Attack stat is among the highest in the format, and its signature move, Glacial Lance, provides a powerful spread Ice STAB that threatens the Dragon, Ground and Flying cores that anchor defensive teams. Its bulk is genuinely excellent, letting it absorb hits while it sets up, and its speed is genuinely poor, which is exactly what Trick Room teams want. Its weaknesses are the ones Ice-types always carry — vulnerable to Fighting, Rock, Fire and Steel — and its reliance on Trick Room means it is dead weight outside its preferred speed tier. It also fears the format's common Fighting and Steel coverage. It functions best as a Trick Room sweeper that punishes the format's slower teams or as a wallbreaker that forces the opponent to overcommit. Glastrier pairs well with Trick Room setters and with partners that handle the Fighting and Steel threats it invites. It is a specialist, all-in pick for slow teams that want a devastating spread cleaner.
