Diancie is the Rock/Fairy support that gives Regulation M-A Trick Room teams a defensive anchor with genuine speed-control value. Its Fairy typing answers the Dragon and Dark pressure of the format, its Rock typing checks the Flying and Ice threats, and its bulk is solid enough to sit in front of most attackers. Its key strength is flexibility: it can set Trick Room, spread status or serve as a bulky pivot, and its typing gives it only a handful of weaknesses. Its weaknesses are real: it is vulnerable to Ground, Steel and Water coverage, its offensive output is modest, and it relies on its team having a genuine win condition. It also invites the Steel-types that answer Fairy pressure, so it needs a partner that handles them. Diancie functions best as a Trick Room setter that survives the setup turn and as a status spreader that wears down opposing cores. It pairs well with slow sweepers and with partners that handle the Steel-types it invites. Diancie rewards patient, control-oriented play and is a reliable support restricted for slow teams.
