VGC analysis
Miraidon's Aquatic mode trades the raw electric speed of its Glide form for a set of tools that fit slower, more controlled teams in Regulation M-A. It still carries the Electric/Dragon typing, the Electric Terrain set and a strong special Attack, but its stat spread favors durability over outright speed, which changes its role from tempo breaker to a mid-game special threat that can take hits while applying pressure. It is best used behind Trick Room or Tailwind, where its coverage and bulk let it outlast the format's faster attackers. Its weaknesses are shared with the other Miraidon modes — vulnerable to Ground, Dragon, Fairy and Ice — and its reduced speed means it must rely on support to move first in critical moments. It pairs well with redirection and with partners that handle the Ground-types that threaten it. On the right team, Aquatic Miraidon is a flexible restricted slot that trades the format's fast tempo for durability, making it a good fit for players who prefer a slower, more methodical approach to the game.

Suggested usage notes
Miraidon Aquatic Mode performs best when its role is clearly defined in team preview. As a Special Attacker and Speed Control Pokémon, focus on positioning it where it can execute its job without being forced into unfavorable exchanges. As a restricted Pokémon, it will attract significant counterplay — plan support and speed control around it.
When teambuilding, pair Miraidon Aquatic Mode with Pokémon that cover its type weaknesses (see counters section below) and provide the speed control or redirection it needs to function. Review the common moves and items section for established sets, then adjust based on your team's specific needs.
