VGC analysis
Terapagos in its Stellar form is a late-game closer built around its Tera ability: when it Terastallizes, it becomes a defensive and offensive wall that is extremely hard to crack, and its signature move gains boosted power the longer the game goes. It plays best as a restricted slot that sits in the back, pressures special boards with strong neutral coverage, and then takes over the endgame once the opponent has committed their answers. Its Normal typing gives it a single weakness, and in Stellar form it sheds most of the weaknesses that would normally punish it, which makes it one of the best switch-in pieces in the format. The cost is that it does nothing special before Terastallizing and its bulk, while solid, is not overwhelming. Teams use it with weather or terrain support that complements its coverage and with redirection to buy the turn it needs to transform. Opponents will try to force it out before it Terastallizes, so protecting that timing — and your Tera — is the entire game plan. It rewards patient, endgame-focused teams over aggressive openings.

Suggested usage notes
Terapagos Stellar performs best when its role is clearly defined in team preview. As a Special Attacker and Support Pokémon, focus on positioning it where it can execute its job without being forced into unfavorable exchanges. As a restricted Pokémon, it will attract significant counterplay — plan support and speed control around it.
When teambuilding, pair Terapagos Stellar with Pokémon that cover its type weaknesses (see counters section below) and provide the speed control or redirection it needs to function. Review the common moves and items section for established sets, then adjust based on your team's specific needs.
