VGC analysis
Miraidon's Drive mode is the all-rounder of the Miraidon line in Regulation M-A: it keeps the Electric/Dragon typing and Electric Terrain set while balancing speed, bulk and power into a package that fits more team styles than its faster sibling. Its signature move still threatens the bulky Water and Flying cores of the format, and its coverage options let it hit the Ground-types that resist it. The trade-off is that it does not dominate any single dimension — it is fast but not the fastest, bulky but not a wall, strong but not the hardest hitter — which makes it a flexible glue piece rather than a team-defining threat. Its weaknesses are shared with the other modes: vulnerable to Ground, Dragon, Fairy and Ice, with a defensive profile that punishes misplays. It plays best on balanced teams that need a special threat that can also set terrain, and it pairs well with partners that handle the Ground-types and the speed tiers it cannot. If your team wants a Miraidon without committing to its extreme speed-focused playstyle, Drive mode is the most flexible and forgiving choice.

Suggested usage notes
Miraidon Drive Mode performs best when its role is clearly defined in team preview. As a Special Attacker and Speed Control Pokémon, focus on positioning it where it can execute its job without being forced into unfavorable exchanges. As a restricted Pokémon, it will attract significant counterplay — plan support and speed control around it.
When teambuilding, pair Miraidon Drive Mode with Pokémon that cover its type weaknesses (see counters section below) and provide the speed control or redirection it needs to function. Review the common moves and items section for established sets, then adjust based on your team's specific needs.
