Mega Baxcalibur is the Dragon/Ice breaker that Regulation M-A's physical teams use to crack the format's bulky walls. Its Attack stat is enormous, and Ice STAB gives it the coverage to threaten the Dragon- and Ground-types that usually anchor defensive cores, while Dragon STAB punishes the format's Neutral boards. Its defining weakness is shared by all Ice-types: defensively fragile and weak to Fighting, Rock and Fire, it folds to common coverage if it is not protected. The standard plan is to bring it in against a slowed or weakened board and let it clean with Ice coverage, using a partner with redirection or speed support to guarantee it moves first. It can also run utility options that make it a less linear threat, but most teams prefer the raw breaker set. Its Speed is good but not exceptional, so it appreciates Tailwind or Icy Wind support to avoid being outsped by the format's faster attackers.
