The best use cases for Psychic Seed are the ones where its effect solves a specific problem. Ask what threat you want to survive, outspeed, or overpower, and whether the item's condition is easy to meet in your expected matchups. Items that trigger once are strongest when the opponent cannot easily strip them with Knock Off before they matter.

Every item has an opportunity cost. Psychic Seed occupies the held-item slot, so compare it with alternatives in the same category. Requires terrain; single use. If the item locks you into one strategy, make sure the rest of the team can still win when that strategy is countered.
